HC Verdict on MLA Defections a Stinging Slap to Congress: Harish Rao

Hyderabad: Reacting on HC verdict on MLA defections former minister and MLA Harish Rao on Monday said, “We welcome the Telangana High Court’s decision regarding the disqualification of defected MLAs. This ruling is a significant setback for Congress’ undemocratic practices. It clearly shows that those who switched parties cannot escape disqualification”.

“The High Court’s decision is a victory for democracy and a strong stand in upholding the values of our Constitution. As a result, by-elections in these constituencies are inevitable, and we are confident that the BRS will emerge victorious. We trust that the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will act promptly, following the court’s directive, to safeguard democracy by making a decision within the next four weeks,” Harish Rao added.
